Luzinterruptus is a Madrid-based anonymous art collective. We've been under a mejor spell of their light urban art interventions. Illuminations are simply beautiful, but they also are more-than-meets-the-eye. They put finger at alarming issues that go often unnoticed (or rather ignored) by authorities (and citizens), such as dirt and rubbish, out-of-order fountains, traffic jams.

Illuminated poetry, street lamps, urban sea, cocktail umbrellas, wellies, cages full of treasures - their imagination has no limits. We like the idea of a late-night thrilling escapades while putting impact on place where you live. We have been thinking lately of a little action by ourselves (something more guerilla gardening, but will have to wait for the spring to come first). We highly recomend you to pay a visit to their website and find out more about their projects.

We had a good plan. Last friday, we wanted to launch our 'once in a week, every friday' posting scheme, but unfortunately, and it's not a lame excuse, we had a gripe with electricity (that's the thing with old buildings, there's so much love about high ceilings, wooden floors, space...until overhaults). So since we've been off for a while, we'll give you the update on what has been inspirational for us lately. We've just rewatched Roman Holidays a few days ago, plus we're already blue-sky-thinking way too much about our 'spontaneous' trip to Rome that will happen at the end of April, all of that direct us straight to la citta eterna. Watching no ceremonious, off-duty princess Ann (Hepburn) made us wish of elegance, but in a cheerful, free-spirited sort of a way. We're coming up with few essentials to keep ours best behaviour foot forward. Long full skirt, silk neck scarf, debonair slippers.

Mayo Loizou and Leszek Chmielewski tandem took first baby step in Tokyo, where in 2005 their Marios boutique was launched. They are based in Milan now, but they work with polish artist on a regular basis. Karol Radziszewski's drawings served as prints for their 'DIK' collection in 2009, whereas pieces that we present in this post are effect of collaboration with photographer Kuba Dąbrowski ('Nowhere' s/s12). We have a soft spot for pleated skirts in general, but these are just the most unusual and striking ones we've seen for a good while. We put it's magic down to breath taking views and hipnotic, neet folds. On overall, it has something of a fragile origami look.

Can you think of anything more effortless and relaxed than beloved jeans? All of this off-duty charm is in little denim dress too (mini simple 3/4 sleeves and tent-like-shirt with a bow are our denim darlings of the moment). Nothing nifty, nor quirky. Since a dress line is kept clear and simple, we thought it would be intresting to pair it down with paint-splattered broques. We like the messy low-key vibe of this sort of combo. Is there anything better than simplicity with an artsy 'devil-may-care', 'couldn't-care-less' attitude?

Side note: Paint-splattered shoes are from Alexander McQueen's old collection, they made really big appearance some time ago, but we think the idea is timeless, thus we've dusted it off. Have a look at TheDandyProject's shoes inspired by them, really lovely. Take lace-ups, a brush, a paint and off you go to your own 'Pollock' project.

Robert Kupisz doesn’t like rigid categories. For his 44' collection, drawing inspiration from Warsaw Uprising, he maintained silhouettes to stay grunge, hobo and a dash nonchalante at the same time. Heavy sheep coats with loose dresses are romantic, shirts tied around waist – 90s. White & black school uniforms, adorable stockings and plaits are marked with something of ‘the end of innocence and youthfullness’ melancholic tone. The most attention-grabbing were eagle logo t-shirts (polish emblem).

Of course, wearing a t-shirt won’t make a patriot out of you, but when it comes to clothes, it’s always about how they make you feel. We all love to grumble about what’s ours and what we take for granted, but sometimes it’s worth to change strategy, and be pround of who you are and where you are from. Those little eagles can do:) we’re not big fans of sport, nonetheless we love watching and cheering up for our white-and-red team playing football, or ski-jumping (or, slightly on a different tack, singing during our favourite guilty-pleasure Eurovision Song Contest). We love how the spirit goes up in those moments when the nation unites and you can feel the sense of belonging, group crossing fingers, hoping…side note: if you plan on visitng Poland during Euro2012, those t-shirts would make a marvellous fashionable souvenir, we are just saying…). We saw this starry skirt on Honestly...wtf and we had to 'steal' it. It restored our deep-rooted longings for magical/ bizzare/ galaxy enigmas that used to be such a great part of our life when we were younger. Do you remember those careeless days when 'My little pony' was on tv early in the morning? Pegasus skirt is just fond reminiscents of that, and of a children book with cosmic trivias that we loved to flick through with blush of excitement as little girls. So that was on a personal note, now back to f-world. Galaxy is nothing new, actually, one season old now, but the thing is we've been on a fence about the trend right from the word go, and this skirt brought discussion back on. Now we can agree, hand on a heart, that we're definitely convinced, and maybe, next time you find tacky vintage cosmic leggings or t-shirt with planets print in a thrift store, you will find them surprisingly appealing as well. If you follow us, you will quickly learn we are advocates of all things androgynous and borrowed from men’s wardrobe. It’s fair to say, we will probably never get over boyfriend’s t-shirts, blazers, shoes and...a good ol’ school briefcase - it is one of those plain perfect dandy evergreens, that we can treasure the whole life, and then, one day in a far-fetched future, will pass on ours chic grandgirls (/grandboys, lord knows). We love cool hunting, you know this thrill that overcomes you when after a long and tiring research, you finally come across a genuine treasure. Even better when you don't search, yet you find, simply by chance. Some time ago we discovered mexican-blanket-and-pompoms set from Burger&Fries: slip-ons, shirt and sweater. It's such a simple idea to adorn basic piece of clothes with scratches bought at the Battersea car boot sale (or as a matter of fact any other flea market, wherever you go on those lazy sundays). That inspired us to create mexican moodboard, a patchwork of street style, Mara Hoffman's S/S12 collection (we love colorful prints, Frida Kahlo inspired hairdos and a stunning tassel bag), Natalia Lafourcade's photos (that's our favourite mexican girl), pompom necklaces from Akong that we know & love since our last stay in London...say no more, queremos mucho y que aproveche amigos!

Anyone who saw classic 80s movie 'Girls just want to have fun' must remember funky & quirky head pieces Lynne Stone (Helen Hunt) was struting. Our favourite 'customized objects' of her were unforgettable blue dino barrettes. We decided to dig dipper the topic and came up with quite excavations ranging from eye-popping, offbeat add-ons (something kindergarden cute or science nerd) to National History Museum's skeleton and bones jewellery. We're especially amazed by Klara Kalicz's designs - model in her 'Mystic lookbook' that we present below, below, below is truly awe-inspiring, she looks like genuine exhibit. Who says dinosaurs died out?

We'd like to share our swedish blue-eyed boy of the moment: Altewai.saome. Label was founded in 2009 in Malmö by two girls: Natalia Altewai i Randa Saome. Side note, we were in Malmö twice and frankly speaking, our flashback revolves mainly around pick'n'mix sweets we bought galore - very embarrassingly the amount finally grossed us out. Back to brand, they are lovely indeed: lots of black in combo with marshmallow and cupcakes colors, glasses frames and outer space uniforms that would make wonderful appearance in remake of polish cult film 'Seksmisja' (1982). In previous autumn/winter collection, what strikes the most are 'oven mitts' and massive computer-parts necklaces, and dresses with the same motive that serves as embelishement. Imaginative and crafty. Love those androit-like elements.

We have rather ambivalent feelings towards fingernail rings. Those long and sharp claws make hand look unnecessarly overloaded and tacky. However, single metallic ring spotted at Still in Berlin and Style Clicker stole our hearts at once. At first the idea of little nail armour may sound a bit bizarre, but in practice, well-paired with classic grey-white-and-blacks keep the look unpretencious, still add a very modern touch, and a bit of surreal. We love such cutting-edge add-ons that aren't too gimmicky though. The designer of those in the pictures is Anna Sara Dåvik.

Tabernacle Twins

Copenhagen Fashion Week is happening within a month, and we're really excited to see what Tabernacle twins have in store this time around. Fictive twin muses are work of danish designer Vibe Lundermark who creates soft silhouettes in offbeat combinations. His forte are digital prints, color and pattern match and eye for detail. We're simply smitten with playful jumpsuits in bright colors, as well as with black & white graphic dresses. We couldn't resist showing to you some of our Tabernacle Twins' favourites. You just can't imagine being sulky in one of those, you're helplessly giving in to their fairytale charm. Unfortunately keeping up with the weather behind the window, we feel dispirited most of the time now, hopefully photos below will help you (us-alike) maintain decent energy level during this grim season. Well, if you are from Australia you're luckily not miserable with winter blahs, but either way, we think those lookbooks are inspirational.

With our post on Copenhagen we got a bit melancholic, and decided to go down memory lane once again. This time London journey. These photos were taken while our three months internship with Paku Sukuda (stylist & art director), precisely on the very first photoshoot together. It took place in fashionable Vauxhall area, in a one-time hostel. Each floor with complicated system of corridors, nooks & crannies reminded something of all-of-the-sudden remote place. Especially big kitchen was quite spectacular. The pre-shoot to-do list included a bit of a research, picking-up clothes so a bit of a tour de London (ladden with bags, we did our part of a muscle-up during those three months, we must say). During the shoot, the biggest fun was hairdrying furs:)

Paku herself is one of the most easy-going people we’ve known. When it comes to picking clothes for photoshoots she’s a dare-devil who acts on her hunches. She may like quirky pieces but she always manage to finally come up with clear vision and create strong silhouttes. One of our fond memory is a giant black heart-shaped bolero, which by the way model wearing it for a shoot described with a lovely ‘sick’ adjective:) On the contrary, photos presented in the post are very glamour and elegant, but they are beauty shoots after all, so the focus is on the face and make-up (by the way, this is a work of Kentaro Kondo, make-up artist, privately Paku’s boyfriend. They often co-work together). Enjoy photos and a bit of a 'behind-the-scenes'!

XXL envelope clutch spotted at the locals. Cork totes are our Pick of the moment. Accessories are powerful. But sometimes, 'enhancing' is on the edge of a prank. Too much, too bold or too costume makes you look like a cake+whipped cream+chocolate syroup and a cherry on the top. Once at the sight of a tv presenter's outfit, our mum unexpectedly slipped out with a 'stupid bejewelled christmas tree' comment, and now to affectionately prickle her, we like to use the term around when playing fashion judges on celebs in glossies. Full of trinkets doesn't always say intresting and attractive. What strikes about this clutch is that it's so effortlessly beautiful and simple. It looks raw & minimalistic, yet it is a 'showboat'. These bag and cluch below are designs of Katarzyna Ostapowicz, we found them on Fullofstyle boutique. How hipnotizing is this dangling corkscrew?
We can't help it, probably popping the cork at midnight will make us think obssesively about them again.

What Copenhagen means to us (in random order): cool, laid back style, guys in checked shirts, girls in leggins+oversize sweaters and loose blouses, top knot hair, bicycles galore, children being driven around in cargo bikes, smørrebrød (simple sandwich, but danish:), Netto discount grocery (Seven Eleven on more wealthy days;) our guilty pleasures: browsing Tiger (cheap and cheerful, for a taste of tiger go http://www.tigerstores.co.uk/ ) and Søstrene Grene (nice bits and bobs: http://www.grenes.dk/), designer shops, hot cross buns & cacao, flashy Palads Cinema, beaches, healthy lifestyle: carrots in lunchboxes and jogging, laundrette culture, bottle deposit machines (noteworthy: machine prints a receipt that you can next exchange for cash. At first you stand with downcast eyes, embarrased that bags full of raised bottles & cans make you look like a condemned alcohol addict, but then you got the unprincipled habit of noticing stray garbagge left on the streets after parties. We had inside joke that it was for this reason why streets were so clean and well-groomed), Nyhavn canal, Tivoli Gardens, Freetown Christiania (hippie enclave, which every now and then government wants to close down. By the way, great sunday nights with jazz), playing backgammon at pubs (still have no clue how to play that), difficult language, meatpacking district (modernistic white buildings, hip area of dj cafés/galleries/bar venues), flea markets, People's kitchen (Folkekøkken, it tooks place every thursday in Christienia, you can eat cheap and tasty, and you have a loaf of bread on the go, beacuase people who work there are volunteers, you have to clean your dirty dishes afterwards), street parties, j-dag (christmas bear in trucks is coming to town!), carlsberg, den lille havfrue (little marmaid), H. C. Andersen, Magasin do nord (one of the oldest and the most beautiful buildings in the centre; we've been collecting their glossy paper), vernisagges in small art galleries, Den Sorte Diamant (Black Diamond library), lovely small colourful houses, picnics in parks, green open spaces, rainy-windy days, liberate people, metro operated without driver (very clean, not an obvious sight), finally: rows of prams standing neatly outside cafes/bars and nursery schools having a walk - babies packed in shared babby baggies. Ola was there for a winter semester and Ania for a spring one, so joined forces we have a full-scale photocalendar of Kobenhavn. Before our erasmus exchange we didn't know much about Cph and Denmark in general, and as we observe it's unfortunately a common case. So we thought we could make a little introduction about Copenhagen, spark infatuation perheps? (we have this incurable cupid's ambition!)

Discovered them some time ago, while still living in London, and simply fell in love with the idea. Then, we were chasing head-over-heels after them, elbowing our way through the crowds mostly on bloody Oxford Street. We found two pairs in TopShop, not nice though . She makes beautiful earings, perheps the most striking are feather earwraps inspired by native american culture and dream catchers. They look big & heavy, and intrigue the eye with its metallic undertones. Some of them have additionally little dangling crosses which make the original boho design more rebelious, sex and rock’n’roll. Also on guys – quite handsome, isn't it? These pieces might not be cheap, but if you want to invest in a statement attention-grabbing accessory that do the talking, they are the ticket (definitely will boost up your look on those casual grey tshirt & jeans days).

Monika Brodka is 24 y.o polish singer. Since year 2004, when she won polish music show 'Idol', she has gone through a lot of fashion fades. On the side note, status of Idol winner is a quite tricky one, it is a bitter-sweet stepping stone as it quickly labels you as a one-season hit starlet. Brodka made her first album ear-pleasing, but it was immature and just average nice. With second album she did so much better. She’ve grown as an artist and fashion icon. With the new album, everything is so well-thought-of and witful.

We may not approve every fashion decision she's made, but what we like about her is that she is charismatic, fearless & cheeky. She's a giddy chameleon. Her on-stage look of the moment is a bit of cock-a-doodle-doo, a bit of quirky space age shapes, lot’s of neon make-up, opt-art prints, colorful ribbons and pom poms, patchwork pillow-like dresses, surprising hats, and fashion recycling design. It's brightfuly cheerful, festive, folky, eye-popping and electric. Even though it looks sometimes like it’s overdone, you can’t fight with stage rules, can you? Off-stage we prefer no-frills Brodka, a classic, elegant one - well, still with a sparkle, she’s a Goral girl after all.

One of this season's big trend was fetish. It reminded us of Luis Buñuel’s film 'Belle de Jour' (1967) where heroine Séverine (Catherine Deneuve) leads a double life. She is elegant, perfectly tailored and buttoned up upper-middle-class wife, but she has other: fetish, glam and leather nature....Have a look at patent trench with wool sleeves and studed aviator hat/rugby helmet with a furry hairbend around it.

'Belle de jour' set the mood for ambiguity & skin thrill. We would love to don this deceptively innocent and cute Burberry Prorsum cape. Such a simple idea, but grand effect – umbrella and raincoat put together. It allows you to protect your outfit and display it at the same time. Bohoboco - ‘it’ polish label of the moment: minimalistic aesthetic, cosmopolitan, feminine touch. We loved every single piece from their previous collection. S/S 2012 – generally they pulled it off again but it was a little bit on the boring side when you compare it with the last season thrill.
